About Us
At Alteva RCM, we're dedicated to helping healthcare providers thrive through expert revenue cycle management, strategic insight, and innovative solutions. We're always looking for passionate, driven professionals who want to make a meaningful impact, grow their careers, and be part of a collaborative team committed to excellence.
About the Role
Alteva’s teams work inside client-owned EHR and practice management environments, and exchange data with them, across a wide range of health systems and physician groups. This is a newly created function. As the Associate Director, you will build the playbook, standards, and team that determine how Alteva connects to client systems, and you will apply them consistently instead of solving each client as a one-off.
You will sit at the intersection of Technology, Operations, and the client. You’ll design integrations, decide the right operating model for each client, and make sure the coders, billers, and A/R specialists who depend on your work can use it.
What You’ll Do
- Build and own the client systems integration function, including the standards, playbook, and team.
- Assess each new client and recommend whether Alteva should exchange data, work directly in the client’s system, or use a combination, based on the services the client has purchased.
- Choose the right connection method for each client (interface, extract, file transfer, API, or RPA) and see the design through to delivery.
- Lead engagement with client CIOs, IT teams, and EHR teams to get access approved and work prioritized in organizations that don’t report to you.
- Enable Alteva staff to work effectively inside client EHRs, including access, security, build requirements, and training.
- Partner with Technology on claims intake and data pipelines.
- Diagnose and resolve feed and interface issues and explain them to Operations in workflow terms.
- Translate Operations needs into clear technical requirements for engineers.
- Work with the Epic Program Manager, who provides dedicated Epic specialization, to coordinate on Epic-based clients.
- Prepare and train operational teams for workflow changes, so go-lives succeed operationally as well as technically.
What You’ll Bring
Integration expertise
- Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, and X12 transactions (837, 835, 276/277).
- Experience with extracts, file transfers, APIs, and RPA where interfaces aren’t available.
- Experience across multiple EMR/EHR platforms. Epic depth is a strong advantage, but the role is EMR-agnostic. Experience with athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Oracle Health, or similar platforms is equally valued.
Revenue cycle knowledge
- Working knowledge of coding, billing, A/R resolution, and IDR, sufficient to design data flows around them (for example, knowing why a missing 835 field stalls a denial appeal, or why an incomplete encounter shouldn’t reach coding).
Client-facing and operating experience
- Experience connecting to client-owned systems you did not control, ideally at an RCM company, outsourcer, or health-tech vendor.
- Proven ability to build credibility quickly with client executives and IT teams.
- Sound judgment on operating models and build-versus-extract-versus-RPA tradeoffs.
- A builder’s mindset, with comfort creating structure, standards, and teams from scratch.
- Strong translation skills between technical and operational audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience enabling staff to work inside client EHRs, not just moving data between systems.
- Experience building or working with a claims intake pipeline.
- Exposure to anesthesia, out-of-network, and IDR workflows.
- Experience training and preparing operational staff for workflow changes.
- Epic certifications (Resolute PB/HB, Bridges) or a background as an Epic analyst or interface developer.
Typical Background
Candidates often come from an Epic analyst or interface role at a health system, or from integration work at an RCM vendor, followed by experience connecting to client environments. Multi-EHR integrators with RCM vendor backgrounds are equally competitive.
Pay Range
$120,000 - $165,000 USD
