Original job description

Meet the Moment with Alteryx

We're living through a once-in-a-generation shift in how work gets done. Data, automation, and AI are quickly becoming the center of every business decision - and Alteryx is leading the transformation.

You'll be working on the challenges that sit at the heart of modern business. No matter your role, the work you do will help organizations move faster, see more clearly, and tackle questions that used to feel impossible.

If you're ready to meet the moment with innovation, curiosity, and excellence, there's a place for you here.

Position Overview At Alteryx, we put data and AI to work for the intelligent enterprise. Alteryx One connects data, governed business logic, and AI-driven insights and actions in a scalable platform.

We are looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager (P5) to lead the company's most strategic platform and trust transformation initiatives that drive business critical metrics. This role drives execution across multiple engineering organizations while influencing technical strategy, operating models, and organizational priorities that enable the long-term evolution of the Alteryx platform.

As a Staff TPM, you will partner with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, SRE, and executive leadership to align investment strategy, resolve cross-organizational dependencies, establish scalable delivery mechanisms, and improve engineering effectiveness across the platform.

This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise, exceptional program leadership, systems thinking, and executive influence to solve ambiguous, enterprise-scale challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Own the strategy and execution of the company's highest-priority platform and trust initiatives spanning multiple engineering organizations.
Influence technical direction by partnering with architecture and engineering leaders to align long-term platform investments with business strategy.
Drive portfolio-level planning, sequencing, and prioritization across multiple concurrent programs while balancing engineering capacity, customer commitments, and strategic objectives.
Establish operating mechanisms that improve organizational planning, dependency management, decision making, and execution predictability.
Lead executive governance forums, quarterly planning, investment reviews, and cross-functional decision-making.
Anticipate organizational risks before they become delivery issues and proactively drive mitigation strategies.
Improve engineering effectiveness through scalable program management practices, metrics, automation, AI-assisted workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coach and mentor Senior TPMs while establishing standards and best practices for technical program management across the organization.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale technical programs across multiple engineering organizations.
Proven ability to influence architecture, organizational priorities, and executive decision making without direct authority.
Deep understanding of cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, infrastructure, security, identity, observability, and modern software architecture.
Experience managing multi-year technology transformation initiatives involving complex organizational dependencies.
Exceptional executive communication skills with experience presenting to VP and C-level audiences.
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technical investments to measurable customer and business outcomes.
Expertise establishing program governance, delivery metrics, portfolio reporting, and organizational operating mechanisms.
Experience leveraging AI to improve engineering planning, execution, communication, and operational efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading platform modernization or cloud transformation initiatives.
Experience building or scaling TPM organizations.
Experience developing engineering operating models.
Enterprise SaaS, AI platform, analytics platform, or cloud infrastructure experience.
Experience supporting mergers, platform integrations, or large-scale technical transformations.
PMP, SAFe, Scrum, AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications.

Find yourself checking a lot of these boxes but doubting whether you should apply? At Alteryx, we support a growth mindset for our associates through all stages of their careers. If you meet some of the requirements and you share our values, we encourage you to apply. As part of our ongoing commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, we’re invested in building teams with a wide variety of backgrounds, identities, and experiences.

Benefits & Perks:
