Job Summary:

The OFCI Coordinator is responsible for managing the Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment program on assigned Mission Critical data center projects from start to finish. This role is the single point of accountability for tracking, coordinating, and documenting owner-procured equipment from submittal through delivery, storage, acceptance, commissioning support, and closeout. The OFCI Coordinator serves as the hub for all vendor communication on the project, making sure that equipment status is always current, the owner is told about schedule impacts early, and nothing falls through the cracks between vendors, the field, and the owner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain the OFCI equipment tracker as the single source of truth for equipment status, location, and delivery schedule.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all OFCI vendor correspondence; facilitate the weekly OFCI meeting with vendors and the owner, and hold one-on-one check-ins with vendors.
  • Review OFCI vendor submittals against the current drawing and specification set; route corrections to vendors and distribute approved submittals to the responsible vendor and installing subcontractor.
  • Manage OFCI submittal and Request for Information (RFI) logs, and flag scope gaps and design conflicts identified during review.
  • Coordinate deliveries with vendors and receiving subcontractors to confirm storage, crane access, and laydown availability.
  • Publish and maintain a rolling three-week delivery schedule for the site team and receiving subcontractors.
  • Secure on-site or approved off-site storage for owner-furnished equipment.
  • Oversee delivery inspections, including verifying equipment against the Bill of Lading and documenting condition with photographs.
  • Ensure periodic inspections of stored equipment are completed and documented on a routine basis.
  • Coordinate and track Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Factory Witness Tests with vendors.
  • Support scheduling of vendor field service representatives for installation, startup, and commissioning.
  • Issue a weekly OFCI report covering delivery schedule, equipment location, delivery variances, and open action items.
  • Notify the owner promptly of delivery delays and provide a recovery plan.
  • Open and document damage and warranty claims with vendors and track them to resolution with the owner.
  • Confirm equipment turnover documentation, O&M manuals, warranty documentation, and attic stock/spare parts are complete and logged at closeout.
  • Comply with all safety policies, report suspected safety concerns, make recommendations for enhancements to the safety program, and visibly support and uphold the company’s strong safety culture.
  • Other related duties.

Education, Experience, and Licensing/Certifications include:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in construction project engineering, procurement coordination, or equipment/materials management; Mission Critical, data center, or large industrial project experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of submittal/RFI workflows, Procore (or similar construction management software), and document control platforms (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud).
  • Strong vendor management and meeting facilitation skills, including the ability to lead weekly cross-company meetings with the owner, procurement, and multiple vendors.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or scope gaps.
  • Willingness to be located at a remote project site or travel to project sites as required.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Alston Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
