Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control Systems Operator in Kearny, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Security Professional at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site access, verify credentials, monitor entry points, and provide outstanding customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers. You will use communication and technology skills to support security-related operations while helping maintain an organized environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and/or employees at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and delivery appointments, maintain visitor and vehicle entry records, and direct authorized personnel to designated areas.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by observing incoming and outgoing traffic, reporting unusual activity, and following established escalation procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
