Original job description

At AliveDx, we empower diagnostic insights, transform patient care, and innovate for life. With over 30-years in in-vitro diagnostics, we put the health of patients first by creating innovative solutions designed for faster diagnostic results. Alba–– our blood bank reagents portfolio–– and MosaiQ®–– one of the first multiplexing and multimodality automated testing platforms––are designed to make labs more efficient and clinical decision-making more effective. Our journey started as Alba Bioscience, and later, Quotient. Today, as AliveDx, we innovate for life.

Corporate Development Manager

AliveDx is recruiting for a Corporate Development Manager to join our Alba Strategic Partnerships and New Ventures team, based in the US (preferably East Coast). The role is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week and with travel required.

As Corporate Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving Alba inorganic growth strategy through the identification, evaluation and execution of strategic acquisitions, licensing opportunities and new business ventures. You will manage opportunities from initial assessment and deal evaluation through to transaction completion and post-acquisition integration, ensuring each opportunity aligns with our strategic objectives and delivers sustainable business value.

Working closely with Finance, Legal, Strategic Marketing, Product Management, R&D and Operations, as well as external advisors and potential partners, you will lead due diligence activities, develop robust financial and commercial assessments, and support successful transaction execution and integration.

YOUR MISSION

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Pipeline and Deal Theses:
  • Maintain the corporate development pipeline: screened targets and licensing opportunities mapped to the growth pillars, with a point of view on timing and price.
  • Write the deal thesis for each live opportunity as an opportunity brief: strategic fit, value-creation case, kill-risks, and the integration burden stated honestly.
  • Diligence and Execution:
  • Run diligence end to end - financial, technical, regulatory / quality, commercial and supply - on a managed request list with findings logged against the thesis.
  • Build the deal model with Finance on the standard workbook; own synergy and integration-cost assumptions and their sourcing.
  • Drive transactions to signature structure, negotiation support, and coordination of external advisors and Legal.
  • Integration and Post-Close:
  • Plan integration before signing - ownership, milestones, day-one requirements - and steer execution through to handover to line management; where an acquired product is pre-launch, carry it into the standard stage-gate process.
  • Track licensing obligations and earn-outs post-close; report deal performance against thesis at 12 and 24 months.
  • Stage-Gate and Governance:
  • Responsible for deal theses, diligence and integration plans; brings every inorganic option to G0 at the Portfolio Governance Board.
  • Run a monthly Corp Dev / M&A Review
  • Success Measures:
  • Pipeline quality (screened targets per pillar with a current point of view); diligence findings that survive post-close scrutiny.
  • Deals executed vs thesis: 12- and 24-month performance against the approved case; integration milestones hit.

YOUR COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Life Sciences or a related discipline. An MBA, CFA or equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous.
  • Significant experience in corporate development, transaction services, investment banking or corporate strategy, ideally within the life sciences sector.
  • Demonstrable experience personally leading due diligence workstreams and developing financial models for acquisition opportunities.
  • Experience managing complex transactions and working with senior stakeholders, external advisors and potential business partners.
  • Knowledge of the IVD or diagnostics sector would be advantageous..
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, with the ability to develop and defend robust investment cases and financial assessments.
  • Ability to assess financial, commercial, technical and operational risks and translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality throughout complex transactions.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and effective relationships with senior leadership, potential acquisition targets, external advisors and other stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams and competing priorities.
  • Confident decision-maker with the ability to translate complex due diligence findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic approach, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A highly dynamic and growing environment.
  • An opportunity to live your passion for intrapreneurial mindset, where cultivating innovation and customer centricity are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Comprehensive benefits: healthcare, 401k plan and various insurances.

Interested? We look forward to receiving your application.
