Original job description
This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established, high-capability remanufacturing operation while playing a key role in shaping its next phase of growth. Combining the autonomy of a General Manager with the resources and global reach of AISIN, this role offers the opportunity to strengthen current operations, expand capabilities, and help build the future of AISIN’s remanufacturing business.
- Established foundation: Lead an operating, certified remanufacturing facility supporting FWD, RWD, CVT, hybrid, and heavy-duty automatic transmissions, spanning 60+ models across multiple global OE brands.
- Significant growth potential: Help drive expansion into hybrid transmission systems, advanced CVT remanufacturing, and new branded remanufacturing programs under the AISIN name.
- Commitment to excellence: Build on an IATF 16949- and ISO 14001-certified operation with established engineering, quality investigation, and OE technical-support capabilities.
- Leadership with impact: Take ownership of business performance, operational excellence, and strategic growth while leveraging the technology, resources, and global platform of a leading automotive Tier 1 supplier.
This role offers a unique opportunity to build on an established business, influence its strategic direction, and deliver meaningful growth within a global organization committed to expanding its remanufacturing capabilities.
What we're looking for
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in automotive manufacturing, remanufacturing, or powertrain operations - transmission experience is a strong plus
- A leader who has run a large site with full ownership of results, not a functional specialist with a big title
- Deep working knowledge of lean manufacturing, problem-solving rigor, and quality systems (IATF 16949 or equivalent)
- Comfort with complex electromechanical products - the more drivetrain/CVT/hybrid exposure, the better
- Financial acumen to defend a budget, justify capital, and drive cost with conviction
- Executive presence to work the plant floor in the morning and a customer or boardroom in the afternoon
- A builder's instinct: integration, transformation, or launch experience is a differentiator
