Position Overview

As a Special Education Teacher, you will support K-5 students with diverse learning needs by creating individualized educational programs, implementing accommodations and modifications, and collaborating with school teams to help students achieve their goals.

Qualifications

• Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required
• Only Tier 3 or Tier 4 Minnesota Special Education licenses will be considered
• Experience supporting elementary-aged students preferred
• Strong collaboration, communication, and case management skills

Job Details

• Location: Elementary school in the Minneapolis area
• Grade Levels: K-5, ASD Center-based program
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Hours: 37.75 hours per week
• Start Date: ASAP
• Setting: Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum, instruction, and classroom materials to meet student needs
• Provide specialized instruction to students with varying learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting
• Utilize assessment and student performance data to guide instruction
• Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
• Create a classroom environment that is positive, inclusive, and conducive to learning
• Implement behavior supports and interventions as needed to promote student success
