Job Title: Warehouse AssociateJob DescriptionThe Warehouse Associate plays a key role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations by receiving, storing, and organizing inventory, accurately picking and packing orders, and preparing shipments. This position involves operating warehouse equipment, maintaining precise inventory records, and following established safety procedures to support smooth day-to-day logistics activities.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming inventory, verify quantities, and ensure items are stored in the correct locations.
• Organize and maintain inventory in a clean, orderly, and easily accessible manner.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to established standards and timelines.
• Load and unload trucks safely, handling materials with care to prevent damage.
• Move materials throughout the warehouse using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, following safety guidelines.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed, with stand-up forklift experience preferred.
• Utilize RF scanners to locate, pick, and track inventory and orders accurately.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control activities.
• Perform cycle counts and participate in regular inventory counts to ensure stock accuracy.
• Support shipping and receiving processes, including sorting, staging, and labeling shipments.
• Handle general labor and material handling tasks such as palletizing, sorting, and organizing products.
• Report any inventory discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and hazard-free.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations.

Essential Skills

• Experience with picking and packing orders in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Hands-on experience with general labor and material handling tasks.
• Ability to perform loading and unloading of trucks safely and efficiently.
• Proficiency using RF scanners for inventory and order processing.
• Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including sorting and staging.
• Basic inventory control skills, including cycle counts and stock verification.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (stand-up forklift experience preferred).
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working as a warehouse associate or warehouse specialist.
• Comfort operating various types of warehouse equipment, including cherry pickers and stand-up forklifts.
• Familiarity with order picking systems and RF-based inventory tracking.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and processing orders.
• Strong commitment to safety and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work assigned shifts consistently.

Work is performed on a first-shift schedule, with start times available at 7:004:00, 8:005:00, or 9:006:00, allowing some flexibility in choosing preferred hours. The position involves regular use of standard warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, RF scanners, and forklifts, with cherry picker and stand-up forklift operation required or preferred for some roles. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures to ensure a comfortable and secure workplace. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Carol Stream, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
