Material Handler

Job Title: Material HandlerJob DescriptionThe role of a Material Handler involves working across various departments within a distribution center, including case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing, and replenishment. The position requires operating material handling equipment to efficiently move inventory within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment to locate and deliver products, supplies, and equipment to designated areas.
• Assist with staging and loading orders into trucks for customer delivery.
• Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and distribution centers.
• Use packing list information to collect items for customer orders, including building and wrapping pallets of products.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear and defects and notify management of inventory issues.
• Return misplaced products to proper storage areas.
• Maintain a clean working environment in accordance with company safety policies.
• Perform inventory control functions as needed.
• Refer complex, unusual problems to a supervisor.
• Exercise some judgment under general supervision in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques.
• Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating an electric pallet jack.
• Experience in picking.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a distribution center environment.
