Material Handler

Job Title: Material HandlerJob DescriptionAs a Material Handler, you will set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal according to blueprint specifications. You will select the appropriate tooling and dies for each job, measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards, and make adjustments to machine settings as needed. Additionally, you will monitor machine operations to detect any issues or malfunctions and perform routine maintenance on the press.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes, banders, shrink wrappers, forklifts, tape measures, and calipers.
• Determine material types and gauges.
• Communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.
• Move multi-thousand pound loads using forklift equipment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience moving at least 1,000 lbs. or more with a fork truck.
• Experience operating LP gas-driven fork trucks.
• Certified fork truck driving with at least one year of experience.
• Experience in safely moving sheet metal and large finished goods is preferred.
