Machine Operator

Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Machine Operator to join our team in operating extrusion and mixing machines. You will play a crucial role in setting up and using an industrial mixer to create compounds that will be transformed into plastic pellets for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a 'traveler's data sheet' to track the product from raw materials to the finished product.
• Read and interpret the form to set up the machine and select the correct ingredients and measurements.
• Set up and adjust the machine according to specifications.
• Clean the machine between production runs to prevent cross-contamination.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Accurately document tasks and the sequence in which they are performed.
• Use a forklift to move materials, requiring a valid driver's license.
• Ensure the smooth, safe, and quality production process from cooling to packaging and staging of finished materials.
• Assure quality and conformance of compound size, shape, color, specific gravity, hardness, packaging, and labeling as per customer specifications.
• Conduct thorough cleanouts and housekeeping to avoid contamination.

Essential Skills

• Experience in machine operation, production, mixing, and extrusion.
• Ability to read and follow quality control and inspection standards.
• Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Steel toe leather boots are required.
• High school diploma or GED is highly preferred, but applicable experience will be considered.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds occasionally.

Work EnvironmentYou will work in a plastics processing and extrusion environment with a distinct plastic smell. Shifts include 1st shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm (sometimes starting at 6 am) Monday through Friday, 2nd shift from 3 pm to 11:30 pm Monday through Friday, and 3rd shift from 11 pm to 7:30 am Sunday night through Thursday night, including every other weekend for now. The environment requires steel toe leather boots and involves lifting up to 55 pounds occasionally. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
