  • Adjust machine settings to maintain quality, throughput, and production standards in a high-speed manufacturing setting.
  • Monitor equipment performance, identify potential issues, and recognize machine malfunctions during operation.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and operational adjustments to resolve mechanical or process issues.
  • Read and follow production work orders, job instructions, and process specifications accurately.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Measure products using tools such as calipers and micrometers and verify that dimensions and specifications are met.
  • Handle raw materials and finished goods safely, including loading, unloading, and staging materials for production.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities on industrial equipment to support reliable operation.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation, including process data and quality checks.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and machine safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to manufacturing safety standards.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and mechanical troubleshooting to reduce downtime and improve process performance.
  • Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and adjustments to support different products or production runs.
  • Work collaboratively with other operators and technicians in a production environment to meet daily and weekly production goals.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years of machine operator experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience operating industrial production equipment such as extruder machines, production machines, or similar manufacturing machinery.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up, load, and operate machines, including performing machine setup and changeovers.
  • Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and basic preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections and quality control activities, including the use of calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
  • Familiarity with high-speed manufacturing, process monitoring, and maintaining production standards.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety, machine safety, and safe material handling practices.
  • Ability to read and follow production work orders and maintain production records accurately.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and process monitoring.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds overhead.
