Forklift Operator

Job Title: Forklift OperatorJob DescriptionThis role involves operating stand-up forklifts in a cold storage environment to safely move, load, and organize frozen products. You will work primarily in a freezer area, using RF scanners to load trucks and complete orders accurately and efficiently while following safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up forklifts (RC) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and organize frozen products.
• Load and unload trucks using a forklift and RF scanner to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
• Perform order selection tasks in a freezer environment, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Use RF scanners to track inventory movement, confirm orders, and update system records.
• Rotate in and out of the freezer approximately every 4045 minutes, following established safety and break schedules.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for working in a cold environment and operating powered industrial equipment.
• Work assigned shifts, including every other weekend, and remain flexible to support production and shipping needs.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts (RC style) in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Comfort working in a freezer environment at approximately -10 to 32 degrees for extended periods with scheduled warm-up breaks.
• Ability to safely load and unload trucks using a forklift.
• Experience using RF scanners for order selection and inventory tracking.
• Strong attention to safety, including adherence to procedures for operating forklifts and working in cold conditions.
• Willingness to work first shift (approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and every other weekend as required.

• Experience as an order selector or in a cold storage or freezer warehouse environment.
• Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic in previous roles.

Work EnvironmentThis is a first-shift role, typically Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the expectation to work every other weekend and receive two days off during the week. The position is based in a freezer and cold storage environment, with temperatures around 32 degrees and colder areas reaching approximately -10 degrees. You will rotate in and out of the freezer about every 4045 minutes, with 1015 minute warm-up breaks provided regularly. All cold-weather gear and overalls are provided. The work involves regular use of stand-up forklifts (RC), RF scanners, and standard warehouse equipment in a production and distribution setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hazleton, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr.
