Job Title: Flexo OperatorJob DescriptionThe Flexo Operator supports the production of plastic containers for the automotive industry by assisting with equipment changeovers, maintaining a clean and efficient work area, and performing routine checks on process systems. This role works closely with technical and production teams to ensure consistent quality, safe operations, and reliable machine performance in a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the completion of material changes, option changes, and mold and version changes on production equipment.
  • Perform nozzle preparation, including cleaning, testing, and assembling nozzles and nozzle blocks to support efficient machine operation.
  • Clean presses and press areas as needed to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Participate in scheduled safety and communication meetings to stay informed and contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Provide support during times of increased need, including production support, vacation coverage, and overtime changeover support.
  • Fill in for Relief Operators and Production Operators as needed to ensure continuous production flow.
  • Perform daily checks and audits of process systems, including mold pre-stage checks, water line checks, 5S audits, and Daily Equipment Checks (DEC).
  • Assist other technical team members with their daily duties, including preventive maintenance on injection molding tools and equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures to complete assembly and machine-related tasks.
  • Inspect parts and components to ensure they meet quality standards and report any issues promptly.
  • Operate production and warehouse equipment, such as machines and forklifts, as needed and as trained.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and housekeeping practices to support a clean and efficient facility.

Essential Skills

  • Manufacturing or production experience strongly preferred, especially in environments with 12-hour shifts and repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent use of a plastic mallet and hand assembly that can cause hand and forearm fatigue.
  • Experience with general machine operation or production machinery in a manufacturing setting.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to support troubleshooting activities on production equipment.
  • Ability to perform inspection tasks and identify quality issues in parts and assemblies.
  • Comfort using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for production and assembly tasks.
  • Willingness to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment that can become hot due to injection molding equipment.
  • Reliability and flexibility to support overtime, vacation coverage, and various production needs as required.
  • Strong soft skills, including ambition, eagerness to learn, and a positive, team-oriented personality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in injection molding, flexo, or similar high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Background in assembly, general production, inspection, or machine operating roles.
  • Exposure to warehouse operations and forklift use.
  • Familiarity with mechanical concepts and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ability to interpret basic blueprints or production drawings is a plus.
  • Comfort working within 5S or other workplace organization and continuous improvement programs.
  • Interest in developing into leadership, maintenance, forklift, or other advanced roles through structured progression plans.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to participate actively in safety and communication meetings.

Why Work Here? The organization offers clear progression plans and defined career tracks, supporting growth from production roles into leadership, maintenance, forklift, and other advanced positions. The culture emphasizes promoting from within and investing in people who demonstrate ambition, eagerness, and a strong work ethic. Leadership development programs and a focus on soft skills create an environment where employees can build long-term careers, not just hold a job. Employees benefit from structured development opportunities and the potential for pay increases as they transition into full-time roles and advance in their careers. Work EnvironmentThe work takes place in a very clean manufacturing facility that primarily uses injection molding machines to produce plastic containers. The production floor is not temperature controlled; although there is good airflow, it can become hot, especially near the equipment, and the role involves 12-hour shifts with repetitive tasks and physically demanding work. Employees frequently use hand tools, plastic mallets, power tools, and measuring tools, and may work around warehouse and forklift operations. The dress code allows comfortable but safe clothing: tops may include t-shirts, hoodies without strings, sweatshirts, and sleeveless shirts (not tank tops), provided they do not expose the stomach, shoulders, or cleavage; bottoms may include jeans, shorts, cargo pants, basketball shorts, and sweatpants, but not leggings, jeggings, or any type of spandex, with shorts reaching near the knee and pants sitting properly at the hip. Closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes are required, but steel-toe shoes are not required. No jewelry of any kind is allowed, including rings, watches, piercings, necklaces, and bracelets. Tattoos and hair color are acceptable as long as they are not offensive, and anything deemed offensive is addressed immediately. The environment combines high safety and cleanliness standards with a practical, relaxed dress code suited to a busy production setting.
