Job Title: CarpenterJob DescriptionThis Carpenter role focuses on new construction and remodeling projects, including commercial and public facilities such as libraries, schools, churches, offices, retail spaces, and manufacturing buildings. You will perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, from metal framing to detailed trim and finish work, contributing to high-quality builds and renovations within approximately 40 miles of Belle Plaine, IA.Responsibilities

• Work on new construction and remodeling projects across a variety of commercial and public buildings, including schools, libraries, churches, offices, retail stores, manufacturing facilities, and multi-family properties.
• Perform metal framing and related structural carpentry tasks according to project plans and specifications.
• Install and hang doors and windows, ensuring proper fit, function, and finish.
• Install casework, cabinets, and related millwork with a high level of accuracy and craftsmanship.
• Install and adjust hardware such as hinges, locks, handles, and other door and cabinet components.
• Complete trim and finish carpentry, including baseboards, casing, and other detailed woodwork.

Essential Skills

• 1+ years carpentry experience in commercial or residential industry
• Proficiency in general carpentry, including structural and finish work.
• Experience with trim and finish carpentry, delivering clean and precise work.
• Valid drivers license.
• Ability to reliably commute and work within a 40-mile radius of Belle Plaine, IA.

The environment includes multiple contractors working together on active sites, with conditions that can be dusty, dirty, and exposed to outdoor elements, though most work shifts indoors during the winter. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, approximately 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with minimal weekend work expected. Each day starts by meeting at the shop, where company trucks depart promptly, so arriving 1015 minutes early is important. The team consists of about 55 employees, with around 35 in the field, and you typically work closely with one other carpenter on site. The dress code is practical and jobsite-appropriate, including jeans, boots, and a t-shirt. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belle Plaine, IA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
