You will work closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to interpret technical documentation, support rapid integration and iteration of avionics components, and ensure that all hardware meets strict quality, reliability, and schedule requirements in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from wiring diagrams, layout drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to build and troubleshoot avionics systems.
  • Build, test, and modify complex cable harnesses, providing detailed redlines and feedback to support drawing corrections and design improvements.
  • Construct high-reliability wire cables and perform fine-pitch PCB soldering and repair to support flight and ground systems.
  • Assist avionics engineering in the rapid iteration and integration of components, racks, and flight deck systems.
  • Support the build and maintenance of unmanned pilot stations and ground systems, ensuring reliable operation in test and operational environments.
  • Perform bench-level testing using standard electronic equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators.
  • Use mechanical and electronics hand tools to fabricate, assemble, and modify avionics structures and components.
  • Monitor task progress, report status, and ensure work meets established quality standards and schedule expectations.
  • Contribute to initial production process development and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and consistency.
  • Travel as needed, up to approximately 25%, to support test operations and major program milestones.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to transform concepts into tested and deployed hardware.
  • Perform aviation-related structural and sheet metal tasks such as fabrication, repair, drilling, riveting, and aircraft modification as needed to support avionics installations.
  • Apply strong attention to detail and accuracy when testing, documenting, and validating avionics systems and cable assemblies.
  • Coordinate tasks and support informal project management activities to keep workstreams organized and aligned with program goals.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience building aerospace, automotive, or commercial-grade cable harnesses.
  • 2+ years of experience using electronics test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • 3+ years of experience working with mechanical and electronics hand tools.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Experience using basic measurement tools such as calipers and tape measures.
  • Demonstrated ability to fabricate and troubleshoot complex cable assemblies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet mission-critical deadlines.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to test sites as required, up to approximately 25%.
  • Hands-on avionics or aviation experience, including exposure to structures, airframes, sheet metal repair, heavy structures, aircraft modification, and fabrication.
  • Experience with avionics systems and testing in an aviation environment.
  • Comfort working with tools and processes such as drilling, riveting (including cherry max), and structural upsizing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting flight hardware in high-output production or research and development environments.
  • PCB soldering and repair experience, including surface-mount and fine-pitch components.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and maintaining test systems and racks.
