1st Shift Blaster

Job Title: 1st Shift BlasterJob DescriptionJoin our team as a blaster, where you will be responsible for removing paint from railcars, specifically hopper and tank cars, using a steel grit blasting technique. This role involves using a blast hose that operates with a pressure of 120 pounds. You must be comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and climbing ladders to perform tasks on top of railcars. Comprehensive training in fall protection and the use of a harness and tie-off equipment will be provided.Responsibilities

• Blast paint off railcars using steel grit blasting.
• Operate a 1.5-inch wide blast hose at 120 pounds of pressure.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Climb ladders to access the top of railcars.
• Undergo fall protection training and wear safety equipment.
• Complete a respirator fit test and wear respiratory protection when necessary.

Essential Skills

• Experience in industrial, sanding, blasting, and sandblasting.
• Mechanically inclined with a experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to work with automotive repair and paint prep.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous blaster experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and wear respiratory protection.
