This hands-on manufacturing role involves assembling heavy mechanical and electrical components with precision, using industrial tools, overhead cranes, hydraulic presses, and specialized lifting equipment.

The successful candidate will assist with positioning and assembling core steel laminations, installing large copper coils, securing electrical connections, and completing related assembly operations according to technical drawings, material specifications, and quality standards. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to workplace safety, and an interest in developing specialized manufacturing skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical Assembly: Assemble large-scale electrical equipment components, including core steel laminations, copper coils, and associated structural components.

• Material Handling: Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other powered industrial equipment to lift, position, and transport heavy components throughout the manufacturing facility.

• Core Assembly: Prepare stacking tables, install core setup components, position steel laminations, and complete the installation of remaining core components using appropriate tools and equipment.

• Coil Installation: Position and install large copper coils into equipment cores using overhead cranes, specialized lifting devices, rigging assemblies, and hand tools.

• Hydraulic Pressing: Assemble rigging structures and operate hydraulic pressing equipment to apply the required pressure during coil installation.

• Electrical Connections: Crimp, secure, and insulate copper-to-copper connections in accordance with established specifications and quality requirements.

• Precision & Quality Control: Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, work instructions, and technical specifications to ensure proper alignment, spacing, and component installation.

• Cleanliness & Contamination Control: Perform required cleaning procedures, including vacuuming, magnetic sweeps, and other contamination-prevention activities.

• Production Coordination: Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and collaborate with production team members, engineering, quality assurance, and other departments to meet production objectives.

• Equipment Transfers: Safely lift, reposition, and transfer completed core assemblies to the next stage of the manufacturing process.

• Training & Development: Continuously develop technical skills and, as qualified, assist with training new employees on established assembly procedures.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong mechanical aptitude and spatial awareness, with the ability to work with large, complex assemblies.

• Proficiency with common hand tools, torque wrenches, wire cutters, crimpers, and other industrial equipment.

• Ability to operate or learn to operate overhead cranes, powered industrial vehicles, and hydraulic pressing equipment in accordance with applicable training and safety requirements.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, bills of materials, and assembly instructions.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to precision, workmanship, and product quality.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

• Dependable work ethic, positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement.

• Ability to follow established safety procedures and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.

Education & Experience

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in heavy mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, industrial manufacturing, or power equipment production.

• Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, hydraulic presses, or other material-handling equipment.

• Familiarity with technical drawings, precision assembly procedures, and industrial tools.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is based in a large-scale industrial manufacturing facility specializing in the production of heavy electrical equipment.

The role requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, pushing, lifting, and handling of materials and components.
