Original job description

Company Overview:

Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET), Incorporated is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) system engineering and information technology firm. Incorporated in 1999, we support mission critical Information Technology (IT) business needs for clients within the intelligence community (IC), Department of Defense (DOD), Veteran Administration (VA) and for select commercial clients. ACET, Inc.’s technical, programmatic, and analytical professionals are experts in commercial technology, customized solutions, and proprietary government systems.

The Position:

This position is awaiting contract award.

ACET is hiring an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Program Manager to support the 2d Bomb Wing and 2d Operations Group at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana.

This position manages the Wing and Operations Group EFB program: the mobile devices, stand-alone computers, mobile device management software, and electronic flight publications that B-52H aircrew fly with. Because aircrew cannot fly without a current EFB, and out-of-date publications carry safety-of-flight consequences, this role combines hands-on device administration with disciplined implementation of changing higher-headquarters security requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Wing and Operations Group EFB program in accordance with AFGSCI 11-270 and Baseline Configuration announcements.
  • Serve as the primary Wing EFB Program Manager and liaison to the AFGSC EFB Program Manager (AFGSC/A3TV). Maintain Wing and squadron EFB Manager appointment letters and submit them to the AFGSC/A3T EFB Workflow organizational mailbox.
  • Perform maintenance, upgrades, patching, and restoration functions that cannot be handled at the squadron level. Hold administrative passcode rights for the mobile device management (MDM) console, ForeFlight administrator access, and local administrator rights on Exclusive Use Stand-Alone (EUSA) computers.
  • Administer EFB devices in BlackBerry Unified Endpoint Management (BBUEM) or future designated MDMs. Configure, issue, track, reset, and update devices; add/remove user accounts; track lost or stolen devices; and verify unit compliance through device audits.
  • Coordinate with the Stan/Eval Technical Order Distribution Officer, squadron EFB Managers, and Stan/Eval representatives to ensure EUSA computers carry current Technical Orders, Currency of Directives, Flight Crew Information Files, Special Interest Items, and Flight Information Publications. Publish standardized flight publications to Group SharePoint sites and shared drives, and notify aircrew of changes.
  • Manage the ForeFlight administration account, add/delete user accounts, and instruct squadron EFB Managers on configuration for worldwide FLIP use.
  • Manage the commercial internet service supporting EFB connectivity. Act as primary contact with the internet service provider, schedule repair/service work, and escort ISP technicians through base facilities.
  • Serve as equipment custodian for all Operations Group EFB equipment to maintain inventory and accountability. Distribute and enroll hardware-refresh devices in the AFGSC Device Enrollment Program and MDM before operational use. Decommission obsolete equipment through the Information Technology Equipment Custodian and DRMO.
  • Work with the Resource Advisor to establish sustainment costs and maintain inventory of EUSA computers, battery extenders, charging systems, faraday bags, lithium fire-bag kits, mounts, cases, and cables. Report sustainment costs in the annual group budget process.
  • Monitor iOS releases and technology news to anticipate obsolescence. Elevate EFB requirements and concerns to leadership and AFGSC/A3T.
  • Use the Microsoft Teams EFB Program Manager site and SharePoint to track announcements, manage user profiles, and assign training to new EFB Managers.
  • Produce the annual EFB Audit Report and EFB Sustainment Report, and support Stan/Eval administrative duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
  • Working knowledge of iOS and macOS. Two (2) years of IT or device management experience is desired.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Microsoft suite experience, with the ability to manage SharePoint and Microsoft Teams applications.

Why Join ACET:

ACET continues to expand its aerospace and aviation sustainment operations supporting multiple Department of Defense aviation platforms worldwide. This position provides the opportunity to directly shape strategic sustainment growth initiatives while supporting operational readiness and mission success across the global aviation enterprise.
