Job Title: Glover - Systems Engineer (MineStar Fleet / Autonomous Hauling)Job DescriptionThis Systems Engineer role focuses on supporting the MineStar Fleet application and Command for Hauling solutions that enable autonomous mining trucks and staff vehicles. You will play a key role in testing and validating complex fleet management systems that manage productivity, direct vehicle routing, and capture critical operational data at mining worksites. The position is heavily oriented toward test engineering with a blend of IT software responsibilities, working in a sophisticated simulated mine-site environment to ensure reliable performance, scalability, and data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Support the MineStar Fleet application and Command for Hauling products used to operate autonomous mining trucks and staff vehicles at mine sites.
- Develop, write, and execute detailed test plans for complex systems, ensuring thorough coverage of functional, performance, and scalability requirements.
- Perform extensive debugging of software and systems issues, identifying root causes and collaborating with relevant teams to implement effective solutions.
- Conduct Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing to validate autonomy onboard software and fleet management functionality in simulated environments.
- Run and manage tests in a scalability lab, operating the product in ways that mirror real customer mine-site usage.
- Use simulators to create realistic mining scenarios, making applications and systems behave as if they are deployed at an actual worksite.
- Administer and manage a large virtual machine environment (approximately 1000 VMs) used to simulate work-site conditions and test applications and network infrastructure.
- Utilize VMware to create, configure, back up, and maintain virtual machines, ensuring stable and efficient test environments.
- Work with Windows Server operating systems and Linux to deploy and support autonomy onboard software within the virtualized environment.
- Operate within an isolated VLAN and segmented network dedicated to the autonomy and testing team, maintaining secure and reliable connectivity.
- Participate in upgrading systems to Windows Server 2022, including planning, testing, and validation of the upgrade process.
- Apply IP networking concepts to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize network connectivity within the test and simulation environment.
- Use Python as needed to support testing activities, automation, data handling, or analysis within the lab environment.
- Collaborate with autonomy and engineering teams to ensure that test results are understood, documented, and used to improve product quality and performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes, tools, and methodologies for complex autonomous systems and fleet management applications.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of experience working with complex systems, preferably in test engineering or systems engineering roles.
- Proven experience developing, writing, and executing comprehensive test plans for software and system-level testing.
- Strong debugging skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues in complex, integrated environments.
- Hands-on experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing methodologies.
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems in an engineering or test environment.
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems, including Windows Server.

- Ability and willingness to work fully onsite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with VMware or similar virtualization platforms, including creating, managing, and backing up virtual machines.
- Familiarity with MineStar or similar fleet management systems used in industrial or mining environments.
- Understanding of IP networking concepts and practices in a lab or production environment.
- Experience working with autonomy onboard software or autonomous vehicle systems.
- Exposure to software testing in scalability labs or large-scale simulated environments.
- Python experience for scripting, automation, or data analysis in support of testing activities.
- Bachelors degree (Engineering discipline preferred) or equivalent technical education.
Work EnvironmentThis position is fully onsite in a dedicated autonomy and testing environment. The team operates within an isolated VLAN and segmented network specifically configured for testing autonomous mining solutions and fleet management applications. You will work extensively in a scalability lab that uses powerful server clusters and approximately 1000 self-administered virtual machines hosted in a centralized data center. VMware is used to manage virtual machines, and the environment includes both Windows Server (including planned upgrades to Windows Server 2022) and Linux systems running autonomy onboard software.
