Quality Engineer

Job Title: Quality EngineerJob DescriptionThis is a contract role spanning over nine months, with the potential to extend into 2028, for an ERP implementation project. The position initially involves a focus of 75% on quality engineering and 25% on ERP implementation, gradually transitioning to a more ERP-centric role. The quality engineering tasks include supplier communication, addressing inspection backlogs, understanding nonconformities, updating Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, and reviewing Engineering Change Order (ECO) procedures.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with suppliers to ensure quality standards.
• Work through the inspection backlog to maintain quality assurance.
• Identify and understand nonconformities within the system.
• Update and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
• Review Engineering Change Order (ECO) procedures for accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in the ERP implementation process, contributing to its success.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in Quality Engineering practices.
• Experience with ERP implementation, particularly SAP ERP.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and related systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude relevant to quality engineering.
• Experience with Engineering Change Orders.
• Proficiency in using CMM machines, particularly 'Keyence'.
• Knowledge of PCBA fabrication processes.

Work EnvironmentThe position is based in an office and a clean Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing facility, providing a professional and structured environment conducive to quality engineering and ERP activities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Tigard, OR. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58.00 - $72.00/hr.
