Qms Specialist

Job Title: QMS SpecialistJob DescriptionThe QMS Specialist will support a sixmonth documentation and compliance project focused on updating existing Control Plans, PFMEAs, and process flow charts and transitioning them from Excel into the Nexus system. Many of these quality documents are approximately 25 years old and were not updated when applicable standards changed in 2019, so this role involves detailed review, technical analysis, and improvement rather than simple data entry. The specialist will collaborate closely with Production Engineers across multiple departments to ensure all documents are accurate, current, and aligned with relevant standards before they are entered into Nexus.Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience updating PFMEAs and Control Plans within a quality documentation context.
• Practical knowledge of IATF requirements and their application in a quality management system.
• Experience working with quality management systems (QMS) and document control processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing and updating technical documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into clear, compliant quality documents.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• VDA experience is a plus, particularly in relation to automotive quality standards and documentation.
• Familiarity with automotive Tier 1 supplier environments is beneficial.
• Experience working with or transitioning documentation into electronic quality systems such as Nexus is an advantage.
• Background in quality assurance, quality engineering, or related fields is preferred.
• Understanding of process flow charting and risk analysis within manufacturing environments.

Work EnvironmentThe QMS Specialist will work in a structured office and production-support environment, collaborating closely with Quality and Production Engineering teams. The role follows a standard schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work will involve extensive use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and the Nexus system to review, update, and manage quality documentation. The environment supports focused, detail-oriented work and regular interaction with cross-functional stakeholders in an automotive Tier 1 supplier setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Battle Creek, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
