Production Planner

Job Description:As a Production Planner, you will play a critical role in gathering, analyzing, and communicating information essential for production processes. You will work closely with various departments such as Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Accounting, and more, to ensure smooth operations. Your main tasks will include obtaining and processing information from multiple sources, updating statuses in Sharepoint, and using computer systems to enter and retrieve data. You will also be responsible for organizing and prioritizing work to meet customer orders efficiently.Responsibilities:

• Gather information from instructions, drawings, specifications, schedules, invoices, or flow charts.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and subordinates via telephone, email, or in person.
• Attend meetings to provide updates and relevant information to appropriate parties.
• Update and track status in Sharepoint.
• Use computers to enter, access, or retrieve data, including email, MS Office, and ERP systems.
• Forecast and plan material purchases to meet customer orders.
• Determine time-phased material requirements based on product structure, build sequence, and lead time.
• Set up review points to monitor job progress and perform expediting functions.
• Prioritize and expedite materials, documents, and instructions to support schedule requirements.
• Monitor and report costs and schedule status.
• Identify and troubleshoot earned value status on assigned programs.
• Interpret implications of contract provisions impacting material planning and control.
• Follow up and expedite information needed to complete tasks.
• Determine inventory requirements and apply principles of inventory management.
• Monitor materials during production and lead residual/surplus material cleanup after projects.
• Analyze and resolve work problems and develop control feedback procedures.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in production planning and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with ERP systems and MS Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various departments.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing, planning, or inventory control preferred.
• Ability to compile reports on work progress, forecast and maintain inventory levels, and devise solutions to material planning problems.

Work Environment:

• This role is based on-site with core hours from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM, following a 9/80 schedule.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Elizabeth City, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
