Actalent Is Hiring For A Formulation Chemist! **Must have 5+ years of experience to qualify**Job DescriptionThis position ensures product quality and consistency by formulating new products, analyzing chemical compositions, developing production processes, troubleshooting chemical reaction issues, conducting stability studies, and identifying improvements to enhance product efficacy.Responsibilities

• Produce lab-scale and production-scale new and/or customer formulations.
• Work with the procurement team to source and select materials compatible with product design, regulatory requirements, and process capabilities.
• Collaborate with process engineering to design and develop transferable and scalable processes for existing production equipment.
• Deliver well-documented, dynamic design control for all products, meeting regulatory and internal procedural requirements.
• Maintain compliance with relevant GMP, GLP, health, and safety requirements.
• Perform chemical testing on samples using physical characterization and advanced instrumentation techniques, including Microscopy, FTIR, viscosity, specific gravity, pH, etc.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in formulation development or scale-up.
• More than 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in formulation, chemistry, R&D, polymer chemistry, medical device, and analytical testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS degree in a Scientific Field (Chemistry or Material Science).
• Experience with statistical software, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in skincare, haircare, or other cosmetic formulation.
• Knowledge of FDA and GMP requirements.
• Experience establishing and testing product stability and shelf-life assessment.
• Experience operating a formulation laboratory, including managing equipment, inventory, laboratory hygiene, and calibration.
• Experience in Design Control within enterprise production systems, especially SAP.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred.

Work EnvironmentThe Formulation Chemist supports the Healthcare and Wellness function by ensuring product quality and consistency. This position is ideal for an experienced cosmetic/OTC formulator looking to elevate their expertise into the medical device manufacturing area. The role requires a self-starter as there will be no direct management. It is an onsite position from Monday to Friday, overseeing a team of two lab technicians, and reporting to the Director of R&D based in TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
