  • Develop more detailed information and documentation for unit interfaces, ensuring clarity and consistency across the firmware architecture.
  • Create new software-specific tracing to link requirements, design, implementation, and verification activities.
  • Write detailed documentation related to tools used in the software development lifecycle, including their purpose, configuration, and usage constraints.
  • Produce and update unit-level design documentation, including diagrams and descriptions that align with Class C software requirements.
  • Create additional tracing for Class C software, such as architecture traceability to design and implementation artifacts in embedded software.
  • Update Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs) to reflect current design decisions, risks, and mitigations for Class C software.

Essential Skills

  • Experience creating software-specific traceability between requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and verification artifacts.
  • Ability to write clear, detailed documentation for software development tools and their usage.
  • Proficiency in unit-level design for embedded or firmware systems, including architecture and detailed design updates.
  • Experience creating and maintaining architecture-to-design tracing for Class C embedded software.
  • Experience updating and maintaining DFMEAs for software or embedded systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in embedded software or firmware engineering in a regulated or safety-critical environment.
  • Familiarity with risk management and safety analysis methods applied to software and firmware.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation and traceability.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as quality, systems, and hardware engineering.

Work EnvironmentThe Firmware Engineer will work in a structured, process-driven environment focused on Class C embedded software.
