Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Engineering Technician supports Engineering and the Tool Room by building, modifying, repairing, and improving manufacturing tooling, fixtures, production aids, and equipment. This role assists with tooling and equipment used for RF welding, assembly, cutting, punching, printing, heat sealing, and other manufacturing processes, while troubleshooting mechanical issues to help restore production quickly. The Engineering Technician applies practical mechanical knowledge, interprets engineering drawings and specifications, performs light machining and fabrication, and supports prototype builds, equipment and process development, validation activities, and new product or process introductions in a regulated manufacturing environment.Responsibilities

  • Support Engineering and the Tool Room in the build, modification, repair, and improvement of manufacturing tooling, fixtures, production aids, and equipment.
  • Assist with tooling and equipment used for RF welding, assembly, cutting, punching, printing, heat sealing, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems involving production equipment, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes to support timely restoration of production.
  • Apply practical mechanical knowledge of pneumatics, bearings, shafts, linear motion components, motors, gearboxes, fasteners, and mechanical assemblies to support fabrication and troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical assemblies, sketches, specifications, and work instructions to perform fabrication, assembly, modification, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Perform light machining, fabrication, fitting, and assembly work as needed, safely operating basic machine-shop equipment when required.
  • Assist engineers with prototype builds, equipment development, process development, manufacturing trials, and new product or process introduction activities.
  • Support validation and qualification activities by setting up equipment, executing approved test protocols, collecting and recording data, documenting results, and assisting with troubleshooting during IQ/OQ/PQ activities.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of poka-yokes, workstations, fixtures, tooling, and semi-automated equipment to enhance safety, quality, repeatability, throughput, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist with basic electrical and controls troubleshooting when qualified, including work with sensors, switches, motors, relays, and related equipment.
  • Leverage PLC and HMI exposure where applicable to support automated equipment, recognizing that advanced PLC/HMI experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Assist with the creation and revision of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, equipment and tooling documentation, drawings, test records, and other engineering records.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Room, Maintenance, Operations, and Quality teams to resolve production issues and complete engineering projects.
  • Assist in training production personnel on new or modified tooling, equipment, and manufacturing methods to ensure safe and effective use.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow applicable standard operating procedures, work instructions, Good Documentation Practices, and quality-system requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support manufacturing and engineering objectives.

  • Working knowledge of common mechanical components and systems, including pneumatics, bearings, shafts, linear motion components, motors, gearboxes, and fasteners.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical assemblies, sketches, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge and experience with sensors, motors, relays, or automated equipment.
  • Ability to follow controlled procedures, accurately document work and test results, and support engineering validation activities.
