Distribution Designer

Job Title: Distribution DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Distribution Designer to join our team in Greenville, SC. The role involves supporting power distribution infrastructure upgrades and storm hardening projects, with a primary focus on Duke Energy projects across the region.Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and design for replacing deteriorating cables.
• Move overhead lines to underground locations.
• Reconduct existing distribution lines and replace aging poles.
• Conduct structural analysis of poles and guying.
• Engage in cable pulling, electric demand analysis, and fault current assessments.
• Coordinate protective measures and work closely with clients to ensure project success.

Essential Skills

• Drafting and/or Engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and distribution design.
• Knowledge of power distribution and electrical systems.
• Experience with utility design and distribution engineering.
• Familiarity with BOUD, Maximo, Smallworld, Bentley, and Microstation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Engineering degree (Bachelor's or Associate's) preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in the electric utility industry.
• EIT/Passed Engineering Fundamentals Exam.
• Experience with distribution design on the Duke system.
• Ability to interact with customers and developers for distribution projects.
