Construction Manager

Job Title: Site Construction ManagerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Site Construction Manager to act as the Project Managers primary on-site field representative. This role requires full-time field oversight and construction coordination to ensure that all project activities align with drawings, specifications, permits, contract documents, and project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time field oversight and construction coordination.
• Monitor subcontractor productivity, workmanship, sequencing, and overall field performance.
• Track project progress and identify potential schedule impacts or construction constraints.
• Conduct routine site walks, inspections, safety observations, and quality checks.
• Ensure construction aligns with drawings, specifications, permits, contract documents, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
• Maintain visibility into safety, quality, subcontractor performance, schedule risks, QA/QC, documentation, commissioning, and turnover.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of construction experience in utility-scale solar PV, distributed generation solar, electrical construction, civil construction, industrial construction, power generation, or related infrastructure projects.
• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related discipline, OR equivalent education and relevant field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, permits, contract documents, and project schedules.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and construction safety practices.
• Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, and digital construction documentation platforms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of overseeing subcontractor execution without directly managing craft labor.
• Experience in handling change orders and construction management.

Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time assignment at an active construction site that requires frequent walking across uneven terrain and active construction areas. Work will be conducted outdoors in varying weather conditions, with PPE and project-specific safety requirements enforced. The role may involve extended travel or temporary relocation depending on the project location, with a standard workweek of 10 hours Monday through Friday, and overtime paid at 1.5x. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Huntley, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $57.00/hr.
