Original job description

Access is building a modern go-to-market engine that turns customer data, market signals, intent, and relationship intelligence into prioritized opportunities and coordinated action across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success. The GTM Intelligence Engineer will own the intelligence and automation layer of this model.

This role will not own the underlying CRM, data warehouse, marketing automation, or integration platforms. The GTM Intelligence Engineer will partner with IT, Enterprise Data, Revenue Operations, Marketing Operations, and platform owners to onboard tools, define requirements, configure capabilities, and deploy workflows.

This is a builder role, not a system-administration role. The successful candidate will translate commercial problems into working, measurable GTM solutions.

What This Role Owns

GTM Intelligence

  • Build account and opportunity prioritization models using fit, intent, engagement, relationship, and customer data.
  • Identify whitespace, cross-sell, upsell, new-logo, renewal, and retention opportunities.
  • Develop practical ICP, propensity, opportunity-sizing, and relationship-strength models.
  • Turn market events and customer activity into actionable commercial insights.
  • Test and improve scoring models using actual sales outcomes.

GTM Plays & Automation

  • Implement and maintain repeatable GTM plays across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.
  • Define triggers, target accounts, actions, channels, ownership, timing, and success metrics.
  • Build workflow logic for alerts, tasks, account lists, sequences, campaigns, and follow-up actions.
  • Configure workflows in partnership with IT and platform owners.
  • Ensure automation is coordinated and does not create duplicate or conflicting outreach.

Data & Signal Activation

  • Work with Product Marketing, Product, Operations, and data teams to define the data and signals required for each GTM use case.
  • Partner with IT and Enterprise Data to onboard enrichment, intent, relationship, and market-intelligence providers.
  • Translate business needs into clear configuration, integration, and data requirements.
  • Validate that data is accurate, timely, and usable before activation.

Measurement & Optimization

  • Build closed-loop measurement system that covers every GTM play.
  • Track performance from account identification through engagement, meetings, pipeline, bookings, and revenue.
  • Run structured experiments on targeting, timing, sequencing, and messaging.
  • Scale what works and stop or redesign what does not.
  • Build dashboards and reporting with Revenue Operations and analytics teams.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Finance, IT, Enterprise Data, and Product.
  • Translate commercial priorities into technical and configuration requirements.
  • Partner with IT on platform onboarding, security, architecture, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Support user acceptance testing, frontline adoption, and workflow enablement.
  • Explain technical tradeoffs clearly to non-technical commercial leaders.
  • Manage external vendors and implementation partners from a business-use-case perspective.

What This Role Does Not Own

The role does not own CRM administration, marketing automation administration, data warehouse ownership, integration-platform ownership, core data engineering, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, or production infrastructure.

The role owns the commercial use case, business logic, configuration requirements, workflow design, and performance measurement.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Marketing Operations, GTM strategy, growth operations, commercial analytics, or revenue technology.
  • Experience building account scoring, segmentation, prioritization, intent, or opportunity models.
  • Strong understanding of B2B enterprise sales, account-based marketing, customer expansion, and complex buying journeys.
  • Experience designing and launching automated GTM workflows.
  • Experience translating business problems into technical or configuration requirements.
  • Working knowledge of CRM, marketing automation, sales engagement, enrichment, intent, and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to analyze commercial data using SQL, business intelligence tools, or comparable methods.
  • Experience measuring impact on pipeline, conversion, bookings, or productivity.
  • Strong program-management, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Marketo, Outreach, Salesloft, 6sense, Demandbase, Bombora, ZoomInfo, Clay, Apollo, Snowflake, Databricks, Workato, n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms.
  • Experience configuring workflow-automation tools and working with APIs.
  • Exposure to Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience building AI-assisted research, account-intelligence, or outreach workflows.
  • Experience in a multi-product, multi-segment B2B organization or private-equity-backed environment.

What Good Looks Like

  • Starts with the commercial problem, not the technology.
  • Can explain how a workflow will improve pipeline, conversion, productivity, or revenue.
  • Builds quickly, tests assumptions, and improves based on results.
  • Understands how changes in one workflow affect the broader GTM system.
  • Can translate between commercial and technical teams.
  • Documents workflows clearly enough for others to understand and operate them.

First-Year Priorities

  • Establish the GTM intelligence roadmap.
  • Launch account-prioritization and opportunity-sizing models.
  • Operationalize intent, compelling-event, and relationship signals.
  • Build an initial portfolio of automated GTM plays.
  • Embed prioritized actions into frontline workflows.
  • Establish closed-loop performance measurement.
  • Demonstrate measurable impact on pipeline, bookings, and productivity.

Success Measures

  • Adoption of GTM intelligence by Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.
  • Improvement in account prioritization and target-account engagement.
  • Pipeline and bookings generated by GTM plays.
  • Conversion rates by signal, score, and workflow.
  • Speed from use-case definition to activation.
  • Accuracy and usefulness of scoring models.
  • Percentage of active plays with closed-loop measurement.
  • Demonstrated productivity and ROI improvement.
  • Quality of partnership with IT, Enterprise Data, and platform owners.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a commercially oriented builder with enough technical fluency to design workflows, work with data, configure automation, and partner effectively with IT. They are not a CRM administrator or data engineer. They can identify a high-value commercial problem, define the required intelligence, build the workflow logic, coordinate deployment, and prove whether the solution improved revenue performance.
