Original job description

Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC) is not just another tech company. We’re a community of innovators, engineers, analysts and business professionals working together with our customers to tackle the most complex challenges. For more than 20 years we’ve supported critical Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), Federal Civilian missions and global, multi-national corporations. We specialize in supporting our clients in the Intelligence, Technology, Defense, AI/ML, and Data Science fields. As we continue to grow at a rapid pace, we need some amazing new professionals to join our team.

ABSC has an exciting opening for a TS/SCI-cleared Senior Security Engineer supporting DIA-NDOC under the DTP contract. This hands-on technical lead will direct day-to-day security activities across enterprise and isolated environments, strengthening vulnerability management, security engineering, RMF and ATO support, continuous monitoring, and operational cybersecurity.

The 10-year DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) program modernizes the secure data, application, and infrastructure capabilities supporting DIA’s National Digital Exploitation & OSINT Center (NDOC). The program delivers scalable media processing, data discovery, enrichment, and analytical services that help mission users transform large volumes of digital information into timely, actionable intelligence. Team members work across software development, systems engineering, cybersecurity, platform operations, and mission integration to sustain current operations while delivering the next generation of DTP capabilities.

Work location and schedule: This is an on-site position at the customer site in Bethesda, MD.

Security clearance required for this role: An active TS/SCI with ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a counterintelligence polygraph

Responsibilities

As an integral member of the DTP team, you will work closely with Government stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams on the following key tasks:

  • Lead day-to-day security operations, establish priorities, and assign and track work across the security team.
  • Provide technical leadership to security personnel, system administrators, engineers, and other technical teams.
  • Lead vulnerability management from identification through analysis, prioritization, remediation, validation, documentation, and closure.
  • Coordinate remediation across Windows, Linux, network, desktop, and infrastructure teams and provide hands-on support for complex issues.
  • Oversee and perform vulnerability scanning and analysis using ACAS, Tenable SecurityCenter, Nessus, or equivalent tools.
  • Oversee implementation and validation of DISA STIGs and approved security baselines.
  • Ensure recurring audit-log reviews, account reviews, control validation, vulnerability reviews, and continuous-monitoring activities are completed.
  • Support RMF and ATO activities, including control evidence, Body of Evidence, POA&Ms, NIST SP 800-53, ICD 503, and applicable directives.
  • Evaluate system and configuration changes for security impact and translate compliance requirements into technical work.
  • Support isolated environments through secure scanning, logging, patching, hardening, and monitoring processes.
  • Review security logs and events using Splunk or comparable SIEM technologies.
  • Develop repeatable procedures and communicate risks, deficiencies, remediation status, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Participate in technical exchanges, security reviews, engineering meetings, accreditation discussions, and team mentoring.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with at least eight years of relevant experience. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph, or active TS/SCI with willingness to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience analyzing application performance and latency issues affected by front-end, middle-tier, and back-end security requirements.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 or 2019, Active Directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and DFS.
  • Experience implementing security controls for file, email, directory, and other enterprise services across geographically dispersed sites.
  • Experience assessing and hardening networks and systems using DISA STIGs.
  • Experience with Splunk, McAfee HBSS, ACAS, or comparable enterprise security and malware-monitoring tools.
  • Strong network and systems troubleshooting experience involving TCP/IP, internet security, and encryption of data at rest and in transit.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documents, diagrams, procedures, schedules, and network topologies using Microsoft Office and Visio.
  • Current DoD 8140 or 8570 IAT Level II certification and an appropriate Computing Environment certification.

Desired Skills

You will wow us even more if you have some of these skills:

  • Experience managing or supervising technical professionals.
  • Current CISSP or CASP+ certification.
  • Experience supporting isolated or restricted environments.
  • Experience leading vulnerability remediation and RMF or ATO activities for Intelligence Community systems.
