Original job description
Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC) is not just another tech company. We’re a community of innovators, engineers, analysts and business professionals working together with our customers to tackle the most complex challenges. For more than 20 years we’ve supported critical Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), Federal Civilian missions and global, multi-national corporations. We specialize in supporting our clients in the Intelligence, Technology, Defense, AI/ML, and Data Science fields. As we continue to grow at a rapid pace, we need some amazing new professionals to join our team.
ABSC has an exciting opening for a TS/SCI-cleared Platform Services Technical Lead supporting DIA-NDOC’s D3P modernization under the DTP contract. You will provide technical leadership, product direction, and execution for the team deploying and sustaining Kubernetes-based application-runtime capabilities and shared services used by mission applications.
The 10-year DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) program modernizes the secure data, application, and infrastructure capabilities supporting DIA’s National Digital Exploitation & OSINT Center (NDOC). The program delivers scalable media processing, data discovery, enrichment, and analytical services that help mission users transform large volumes of digital information into timely, actionable intelligence. Team members work across software development, systems engineering, cybersecurity, platform operations, and mission integration to sustain current operations while delivering the next generation of DTP capabilities.
Work location and schedule: Most work is performed onsite at the customer location in Bethesda, MD. A flexible schedule and occasional remote work may be available based on customer requirements and deliverables.
Security clearance required for this role: An active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph is required.
Responsibilities
As an integral member of the DTP team, you will work closely with Government stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams on the following key tasks:
- Lead the design, integration, deployment, operation, and sustainment of mission application-runtime and shared platform services.
- Translate Government mission priorities and product-roadmap requirements into executable technical plans and backlog items.
- Own and prioritize the team backlog and define user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Guide architecture, engineering, security, automation, and implementation decisions.
- Lead technical discussions, evaluate alternatives, and resolve complex application, integration, Kubernetes, Linux, data-service, and infrastructure challenges.
- Balance new capabilities, security findings, defects, operational sustainment, and technical debt.
- Identify and manage technical risks, capacity concerns, dependencies, and impediments.
- Drive execution against Program Increment objectives and sprint commitments.
- Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and demonstrations, retrospectives, and PI Planning.
- Promote automated testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, application security, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate progress, status, risks, tradeoffs, and investment needs to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, and planning for current and future capabilities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field with 12 or more years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 10 or more years of relevant experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
- Hands-on production Kubernetes administration, including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, configuration, namespaces, tenancy, quotas, limits, capacity planning, RBAC, and troubleshooting.
- Experience operating Elastic, Redis, or comparable shared platform services, including configuration, scaling, monitoring, high availability, backup, recovery, upgrades, and incident response.
- Experience implementing least privilege, vulnerability remediation, secure baselines, encryption, audit logging, and secrets management.
- Experience with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, SLOs, SLIs, capacity monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
- Strong knowledge of Linux application hosting, containers, images, networking, DNS, TLS and certificates, and storage.
- Experience using CloudFormation, Helm, Salt, Ansible, or comparable automation and configuration-management tools.
- Experience as a DevOps, Platform, Shared Services, or Systems Engineering technical lead.
- Experience working in an Agile program, particularly SAFe.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills
You will wow us even more if you have some of these skills:
- Experience with AI-driven processing systems.
- Cloud infrastructure experience.
- Experience with Appian or another low-code platform.
