Original job description

Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC) is not just another tech company. We’re a community of innovators, engineers, analysts and business professionals working together with our customers to tackle the most complex challenges. For more than 20 years we’ve supported critical Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), Federal Civilian missions and global, multi-national corporations. We specialize in supporting our clients in the Intelligence, Technology, Defense, AI/ML, and Data Science fields. As we continue to grow at a rapid pace, we need some amazing new professionals to join our team.

ABSC has an exciting opening for a TS/SCI-cleared Application Support Engineer supporting DIA-NDOC under the DTP contract. You will serve as a customer-facing technical anchor for a mission-critical media processing workflow, monitoring application health, resolving urgent support requests, and translating operational issues into actionable work for database, systems, network, and product teams.

The 10-year DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) program modernizes the secure data, application, and infrastructure capabilities supporting DIA’s National Digital Exploitation & OSINT Center (NDOC). The program delivers scalable media processing, data discovery, enrichment, and analytical services that help mission users transform large volumes of digital information into timely, actionable intelligence. Team members work across software development, systems engineering, cybersecurity, platform operations, and mission integration to sustain current operations while delivering the next generation of DTP capabilities.

Work location and schedule: Most work is performed onsite at the customer location in Bethesda, MD. A flexible schedule and occasional remote work may be available based on customer requirements and deliverables.

Security clearance required for this role: An active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

As an integral member of the DTP team, you will work closely with Government stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams on the following key tasks:

  • Monitor the health, availability, performance, and throughput of media ingest applications, transcoding pipelines, and digital asset management tools.
  • Serve as the front-line technical escalation point for external clients and internal operational stakeholders.
  • Identify processing bottlenecks, failed ingest jobs, metadata corruption, and network-transfer errors before they affect mission delivery.
  • Triage, investigate, and resolve application issues and customer complaints within contractual SLA response and resolution windows.
  • Document incident lifecycles, troubleshooting actions, root-cause analyses, workarounds, and resolution procedures.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot application-server infrastructure across Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • Use SQL to investigate application state, isolate data-related causes, and extract operational metrics.
  • Translate application latency complaints into database diagnostics and application failures into server or network requirements.
  • Convert recurring customer issues into prioritized defect tickets, user stories, and feature requests.
  • Coordinate with DBAs, Systems Engineers, Product Owners, developers, and customer stakeholders through incident closure.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field with eight to 12 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with six to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
  • Experience in technical support, application support, or systems administration within an enterprise software environment.
  • Demonstrated competency administering and troubleshooting Linux and Windows Server.
  • Proficiency writing SQL queries to investigate application state and extract operational metrics.
  • Understanding of digital media concepts, including ingest workflows, wrappers or containers, XML or JSON metadata, and transfer protocols.
  • Exceptional communication skills and demonstrated ability to translate between nontechnical users and specialized engineering teams.

Desired Skills

You will wow us even more if you have some of these skills:

  • Experience supporting containerized applications.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, telemetry, and observability platforms.
  • Experience supporting media-processing or high-throughput data workflows.
  • Experience working within defined SLAs and formal incident-management processes.

Salary and Compensation

Salary is commensurate with education and years of experience. The anticipated salary range for this requisition is $110,000 - $225,000 annually. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, the responsibilities of the position, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, security clearance, internal equity, applicable market data, contractual labor-category requirements, applicable bargaining agreements, and other applicable laws or requirements.
