Temporary Engineer

Overview

ABM is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician for a temporary 6-8 month assignment supporting multiple commercial properties in the Metro area. This role will assist building engineers with preventive maintenance, building inspections, light repairs, mechanical room monitoring, and general facility support. The position will also help maintain common areas, respond to tenant maintenance requests, support property management operations, and ensure safety and operational excellence throughout the properties. We are looking for a dependable, hands-on professional who can provide immediate support and deliver exceptional service to tenants, vendors, and property teams.

PAY: $28.00

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm

Responsibilities

• General Maintenance & Repairs
• Perform minor repairs to doors, locks, hinges, handles, and hardware.
• Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and air filters when authorized.
• Repair minor drywall damage and perform basic painting and touch-ups.
• Assemble furniture and assist with office moves and tenant improvements.
• Address minor plumbing issues, such as loose fixtures and clogged sinks, within qualifications.
• Report larger repairs and mechanical issues to the building engineer.

Qualifications

• 3 plus years of engineering experience
• Engineering skill sets which can be applied to a range of systems, maintenance programs and engines
• For service engineering positions, these same technical skills are applied towards operational issues versus project specific work
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues, detailed level of project management for regulatory compliance modifications
• Excellent verbal and technical writing skills needed
