Job Description
The SkinMedica Inside Sales Manager (ISM) leads a high-performing inside sales team and drives achievement of revenue and portfolio-growth goals across an assigned geography. This role translates U.S. marketing strategies into actionable sales execution plans, ensuring a consistent, customer-centered experience across the SkinMedica portfolio. The ISM provides strategic direction, coaching, and performance leadership to a team of Inside Strategic Account Managers. This leader is an active participant in the selling process, leads through influence, and adapts quickly to evolving business priorities. Success requires close partnership with Internal Facial Inside Sales Managers, Trainers, Strategic Account Managers, Regional Sales Leaders, Area Sales Leaders, and cross-functional partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and motivate an inside sales team to achieve revenue, growth, customer engagement, and performance objectives across the assigned geography.
- Maintain accountability for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, development, and performance management of direct reports.
- Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and development plans that build business-development capability across experience levels, from new hires to advanced inside sales professionals.
- Conduct regular coaching, feedback, and performance discussions that strengthen consultative selling, competitive differentiation, value-based selling, and customer relationship management skills.
- Lead talent-development and succession-planning efforts to build a strong internal pipeline and ensure continuity of team performance.
- Translate national and regional marketing strategies into local sales execution plans that support SkinMedica portfolio growth and evolving customer needs.
- Partner with field sales leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, remove barriers, coordinate resources, and deliver business results.
- Build and manage relationships with established and emerging injectors and aesthetic practices within the assigned geography. Serve as a key escalation point for customer relationship opportunities and concerns.
- Develop account-growth plans for emerging practices, progressing accounts from low- to higher-volume potential and transitioning accounts to field partners when advanced business-development support is appropriate.
- Coordinate and optimize customer resources, including Allergan Medical Institute training, marketing promotions, consumer education, and other approved tools and programs.
- Collaborate with field management to provide sales support during field vacancies and help maintain and grow priority accounts.
- Use available business tools and data - including SAP, Salesforce, quota-management tools, and other reporting platforms - to assess performance, identify trends, and guide resource allocation.
- Manage area resources responsibly, including travel, expense, and promotional budgets, with a focus on return on investment and compliance with company policies.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, strategic thinking, and an ability to consider multiple perspectives when making business decisions.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable company policies, including compliance, travel, and expense requirements.
- Lead and manage a non-exempt employee population in accordance with applicable employment practices and company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, health sciences, pharmacy, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience required; B2B2C sales experience preferred.
- Prior people-leadership, coaching, or team-development experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate a sales team in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
- Strong business acumen, analytical capability, financial and budget-management skills, and business-planning experience.
- Proven consultative selling skills and the ability to translate strategy into effective customer engagement and sales execution.
- Strong strategic-thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work productively across diverse customer and internal stakeholder groups.
- Growth mindset, adaptability, accountability, and a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and development.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience using customer relationship management and sales reporting systems.
- Ability to travel approximately 15–20% of the time.
