The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and adapts to evolving technologies, including responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools.

Responsibilities:

Participate in requirements refinement, software design discussions, design reviews, and test-planning activities under the guidance of senior engineers.

Participate in code reviews and support defect investigation, root-cause analysis, and resolution of product or field issues.
Collaborate with Systems, Software Test, Quality, Manufacturing, Product Support, and other cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Contribute to regulated software lifecycle documentation, including requirements, design descriptions, test documentation, traceability records, and technical reports.
Follow established software development, configuration management, cybersecurity, quality-system, DevOps, and Agile practices.
Research and responsibly use modern engineering tools, including AI-assisted development tools, while verifying outputs and maintaining ownership of the final engineering work.

Qualifications

0–2 years of relevant experience, including internships, co-ops, research, capstone work, academic projects, or industry experience.
Foundational understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and structured or object-oriented design.
Experience with one or more programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, or Java through coursework, projects, internships, or employment.
Basic understanding of software testing, debugging, source control, and configuration management practices.

Familiarity with communication interfaces or protocols such as UART/RS232, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth is helpful.
Exposure to regulated product development, medical devices, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, or FDA quality-system requirements is helpful but not required.
Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn new technologies, including effective and responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools; able to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated output.
