Software Quality Assurance Manager

We are working with a rapidly growing IoT company north of Chicago. Their system comprises robust hardware devices, mobile apps, and cloud apps that utilize the latest Bluetooth Low Energy technology, advanced encryption algorithms, and cloud technologies. They are expanding there customer base from telecommunications industry to many other adjacent markets. As a Software Quality Assurance Manager, this position will be accountable for managing all the product development quality assurance resources and all processes, as well as a key contributing member to the overall software development process. This position reports to the Director of Software Development. In this role you will need to perform management of processes and personnel in addition to hands-on work performing quality assurance testing and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain full ownership of QA testing procedures, practices, and documentation across platform and products

Defines and optimizes existing workflow within the QA team for resolving issues efficiently while promoting high visibility of status

Create company standard testing protocols and procedures for product software, firmware and hardware against existing and upcoming operating systems versions (Android, iOS, Windows), web browsers, and mobile device hardware.

Work with product management and development teams to define the overall priority of issues, and assists in grooming backlog of the issues and features regularly

Schedule, track, and ensure the successful execution of test plans for new product releases, individual features, and priority issues

Maintain test documentation for both internal and client use

Mentors junior team members and champions quality assurance best practices

Requirements

2+years demonstrated experience performing software testing and QA/QC in a leadership or management position 4 years of Product QA

7+ years of overall experience in software testing

Experience with software and testing management tools like Jira, TestRail, etc.

Experience with one or more automated test frameworks like Selenium, Cucumber, etc.

Expertise in the development of test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts

Experience with Agile development processes

Demonstrated leadership driving process improvement, pushing quality upstream, and understanding of technical methodologies

Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Experience:

Experience with end-to-end integration testing

Experience in API testing (REST APIs)

Hands-on experience with integrated hardware-software
